First NEW truck, hell yeah.

Hellzzz yeah!

I am partial to the color.

My first NEW vehicle was a Ranger... not ALL the truck you purchased... but I drove that one for many years faithfully. May your truck do the same for you sir.

Congrats!

Keep us posted on what you do with it!

Thanks guys! The total financed which includes sales tax and gap coverage is just a tad over 35k. Initial sticker price was just under 36k so I'm happy. Plus, leveling kit and first 3 oil changes.. good enough for this guy.

$300 a month... my property taxes are higher then that.

I think mine are around $7-800 a year. $1100/year for insurance. Not too bad at all. Taxes will be going up again this year as there's a new school levy going into place, but still not bad at all, sure beats the $1200+/mo for rent around here. Just wish we still had the back acre LOL. 2 acres would be much better.

Not bad really for what you are getting. The standard features in base model vehicles today either didn't exist or cost a lot extra several years ago. So, you gonna keep it till it dies, or until something else new comes out? When I buy I have to buy a vehicle that's gonna still be running/driving in 20 years LOL.

Not too bad at all, it costs 6x what my 2010 did but its definitely 6x the truck so well see lol. It was kind of daunting signing my life away to one vehicle for so long, ive only ever had a vehicle for like 5 years max then switched it up.. variety being the spice of life and all. Ill at least have it for the duration of the loan haha. Mabey once its paid ill sell it and put a big fat down payment on a clobberin f350.

Are you going to be doing any towing with it, or is it going to be more of a daily driver for you? Curious to see how they do for towing duties. Not like max capacity towing, but weekend DIYer type stuff, or a very small say like 14-16 foot travel trailer type towing a few times a year. This is one of the things that would push me to not get a Ranger if it can't handle a bit of towing duties once in a while. Like I said nothing really heavy, maybe 3-4k pounds once in a while. I'd be looking more towards the super cab with the 6 foot bed though in an XL trim, with 4WD and locker would really be all I'd need honestly. I don't do any serious offroading, but do occasionally get out on back roads, honestly don't have any issues with open differentials out where I go, but maybe a nice thing to have a locker for getting out on the back country roads with a travel trailer once in a while.

Anyone have any snow adventures in their new(er) Rangers? Curious as to how they handle in snow. My 87 Ranger is useless of course with the long bed and 2wd in snow LOL. Absolutely no weight in the back, unless I'm loaded down its not moving LOL.

I really had a horrible taste in my mouth about the new Rangers without a V6, with a 4 cylinder and dual turbos as the only option, but the more I'm hearing from TRS members with real world experience they are much better than the rumors going around about them, and they actually aren't much larger than the older Rangers. So a new Ranger may be in the cards in a few years if they'll handle some light duty towing occasionally of course with the more frequent services that's required when towing. It really has been a tossup lately thinking of some of the newer vehicles out there and looking between the Ranger and an F150 with the 5.0L V8. I guess maybe if I ever get the tractor I want for the property I would most likely need the F150 to pull a trailer that would be big enough to handle the tractor. Only looking at a Kubota BX2680 with the loader...which I think may only be around 2500-3000lbs max, but the trailer I'd assume would weigh maybe 2k as well, which would make me think I would need at least an F150, or possibly an F250? Don't want anymore vehicles LOL. If I get a new vehicle its replacing the Bronco 2 and my current Ranger LOL.

Jim pulled TRS2 from Ohio to Texas with a, dolly. Tow rating is pretty respectable, around 6500 IIRC

With the tow package its rated at 7500 pounds. I likely won't be towing quite that much. In the foreseeable future I can only envision hauling a trailer with one or two atvs on it. Non tow package trucks are rated at 3500 iirc.

So far this thing has been awesome in the snow. I can't wait for it all to melt though.. and for mudseason to get here. Theres nothing quite like a sloppy drive down seasonal roads before they dry up and get graded and flattened out for the year. Most of these roads don't technically open until the end of may.. but usually around mid April enough snow has melted to make them passable and there's a good mix of mud&snow.

I really should invest in a new one, I keep things until they are well wore out and no longer available anyways, my ‘93 4x4 ranger I bought used when it was 10 years old, I drove it another 12 years after that, just hate that price that seems more like a house price than a truck price. I really enjoy the newer escape we have despite the crap on it I dont like (like tpms, traction control, seat belt and key-in-ignition alarms I cant do away with) Would love a classic’70’s full-size someday too.

The newest vehicle I have is a 2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.6L V8 4x4. The other 2 are my 88 Bronco 2 and 87 Ranger. Love them all, but its time for something new again in the near future. Trying to wait till I get finances caught back up again after all the stuff with my mom passing away...that stuff is expensive to deal with.

Should be fine for anything I need to do but a lot of places won't let you tow unless you have a 1/2 ton or larger. But I may just pickup an older 90's F250 for the heavier towing duties if I get the tractor here in the next year or so.

Yeah it looks like 7500lbs max towing. Sure beats the 2000lb tow capacity of my 87 Ranger LOL. I think my Bronco 2 is rated for 3500lbs if I recall, not sure I'd try that much though LOL.

Looks more like this new Ranger may just fit well into my lifestyle for what I really need a truck for most of the time just DIY weekend project type stuff, a trip to the lumber yard once in a while type thing, tow a small utility trailer or camp trailer once in a while maybe 2-3 times a year. I'll save the tractor/trailer towing duties for a larger truck whenever I get the tractor....was supposed to happen last year but things never worked out....seems something always comes up, and seems like having to wait longer better things happen within that time so usually worth the wait.

Glad to know it handles well in the snow. We occasionally get dumped on here in southern Idaho about 4 years ago I had 2 feet of snow in my driveway for about a month, so it's gotta go through snow LOL. I was scraping skid plates with my 08 Toyota Tundra, my Bronco 2 was sadly down for most of it waiting on replacement hubs, so by the time the hubs arrived and got them installed quite a bit had already started melting so never got to really see if it would make it through that mess.

Life really does like to get right in the way doesnt it? The wait makes the final result sweeter though, usually. Ive only put.. 250ish miles on my truck so far but its more than I could of hoped for. I reccomend.

Oh! Nearly forgot. Monday night I ordered 255/75/17 (32") kenda klever MT's, and earlier today I ordered an AFE muffler delete (stainless 3" pipe, 4.5" tip) let the fun begin! As soon as my wallet cools off I have my eye on the diode dynamics fog light kit, and fitting a 20" bar into the lower grille opening.

I havnt gone through that much yet, admittedly. We've had two storms this week since I came home with the truck but they were more icy than anything. However, I have no doubts itll plow through plenty of the white crap. Im sure we'll get another 24+ incher before the end of the season... hope not.. but it would be cool to see how the truck does haha.

KNOCK ON WOOD.... we've had a pretty reasonable winter up here so far. We've only gotten about 25-30% of our average snowfall so far.

My truck would stay stock, but its always interesting to see what people do with their vehicles over time. You'll have to throw up some pictures of those tires when you get them.
