First NEW truck, hell yeah.

I havnt gone through that much yet, admittedly. We've had two storms this week since I came home with the truck but they were more icy than anything. However, I have no doubts itll plow through plenty of the white crap. Im sure we'll get another 24+ incher before the end of the season... hope not.. but it would be cool to see how the truck does haha.

KNOCK ON WOOD.... we've had a pretty reasonable winter up here so far. We've only gotten about 25-30% of our average snowfall so far.

The past couple years we've had maybe a total of 3 inches LOL. This past snow storm of about 10 inches is the most we've had in quite a while.

My truck would stay stock, but its always interesting to see what people do with their vehicles over time. You'll have to throw up some pictures of those tires when you get them.

I can't leave anything stock lol. My past two vehicles have been left pretty much stock.. so I feel like I have to return the balance and do plenty to this one haha.

I'll definitely upload some pics of the tires, hoping to have them installed either the same day the leveling kit gets installed or the day after.

I haven’t towed quite the weight you are looking at. With my utility trailer fully loaded, it’s about 1,400 pounds. As long as the trailer is loaded correctly, the truck doesn’t feel like it has a trailer hooked up to it. I’ve towed with it in the winter as well as the summer now and it handles it well.

The truck only has one turbo, not two. The V6s are the ones with a twin turbo.

As far as winter handling, it drives about the same as the SUV it replaced, Granted, I have the Supercrew model and not the Supercab. So, weight distribution is more SUV like than truck like with the short bed.

Like anything else, a good set of tires makes a world of difference. I immediately got another set of rims and winter tires for it. So I can’t tell you how the factory tires handle in the snow. I can tell you that they aren’t worth much in mud but for a street oriented tire, that pretty much goes without saying.

Just keep in mind when you are hauling, you are engaging the turbo and you will get hauling gas mileage. You are not going to get the 24 mpg it’s rated for (when hauling) since you will be in boost. There are people who forget that. Also, if you are going to haul or tow a lot, an ecoboost equipped truck may not for be the best choice for you.

The ecoboost engine is a weekend warrior. It isn’t meant to run in constant boost like a diesel engine is. A bigger naturally aspirated engine would be a better choice.

To a point.

In F-150 land to get the heavy payload/tow packages you have to get the EB.

Of course by the time you get a decked out '150 you are within spitting distance costwise of a F-250 with a 'zilla...

I view it as one of those “pay me now or pay me later” propositions. Save a buck and replace the truck or the engine more often or spend more money up front and replace less later.

Of course, real life doesn’t always work that way but it often does. Enough that “buy once, cry once” is more words of wisdom than just good advice.

I just looked at their builder page for the F-150. on 2020 MY If you get the Heavy duty Payload package you have to get the 5.0, if you get the max towing package you have to get the 3.5.

HOWEVER on the 2021MY they are conjoined, you can not order them separately, and you must have the 5.0.

I wonder when they changed that, I know I played with it last year and it would kick me to the 3.5.

B&P isn't really a gospel either, for the longest time rock rails were a $600 option on our Bronco although they were actually included in our trim package...

I just built both for giggles, "my" F-250 is about a grand cheaper than a '150 with all the tow packages...

Lemme tell you guys, the future is neat.

By the future I really mean FordPass..

Being able to start my truck when I'm still 5 miles away from the shop at the end of the day so its nice and warm on my way home is AWESOME.

Being able to schedule the truck to start 5 minutes before I gotta leave for work in the morning too... super sweet.

I use pandora to stream music, used to need a Bluetooth adapter in the old truck.. which worked fine, but it needed to be connected to pretty much every time I got back in.. and would need to either hit play on the adapter OR on my phone.. but with the new truck it just automatically connects to the radio AND will automatically start playing as long as pandora is open and Bluetooth on. Sweet.

THHEEEE FUUUTTTUUURREEEEEEEE!

Its kinda lazy. Convenience = lazy. Absolutely. But its awesome.

It is ran by AT&T which does not have any service in my area.

My brother is a tech at the local dealer and everybody is always complaining their Ford Pass doesn't work. There is one parking spot at the hospital (on a hill) that it will work... and that is it.

Aah alright, good to know. Glad I'm usually around good reception! Cause damn.. all this is just too cool.

Is that a subscription you have to pay for?

I'm not sure actually.. i very well may just be enjoying a free trial.. which would bum me out.

I'll have to ask the dealer when they call about my leveling kit. I also have to inquire about where 2 of my 6 bed tie downs are lol. The middle ones never got installed.. someone else had this issue.. @HenryMac possibly? He'd likely know about the free-ness of the FordPass convenience too.

Id also like to see about getting my first of 3 free oil changes done at 500 miles. Ive always done the first change on any new/rebuilt motor at 500 miles.

There is a thread about those missing tie downs, looks like they just didn't put them in any of the trucks. I think someone even said they were removed from the sales brochure after the first year.

I think so.

My wife has some aftermarket Drone thing on her car and it is the same crap. It is a subscription and it quit working when she moved down here because of the AT&T deal. Needs a Verizon sim card and a different module or something.
