Are you going to be doing any towing with it, or is it going to be more of a daily driver for you? Curious to see how they do for towing duties. Not like max capacity towing, but weekend DIYer type stuff, or a very small say like 14-16 foot travel trailer type towing a few times a year. This is one of the things that would push me to not get a Ranger if it can't handle a bit of towing duties once in a while. Like I said nothing really heavy, maybe 3-4k pounds once in a while. I'd be looking more towards the super cab with the 6 foot bed though in an XL trim, with 4WD and locker would really be all I'd need honestly. I don't do any serious offroading, but do occasionally get out on back roads, honestly don't have any issues with open differentials out where I go, but maybe a nice thing to have a locker for getting out on the back country roads with a travel trailer once in a while.
Anyone have any snow adventures in their new(er) Rangers? Curious as to how they handle in snow. My 87 Ranger is useless of course with the long bed and 2wd in snow LOL. Absolutely no weight in the back, unless I'm loaded down its not moving LOL.
I really had a horrible taste in my mouth about the new Rangers without a V6, with a 4 cylinder and dual turbos as the only option, but the more I'm hearing from TRS members with real world experience they are much better than the rumors going around about them, and they actually aren't much larger than the older Rangers. So a new Ranger may be in the cards in a few years if they'll handle some light duty towing occasionally of course with the more frequent services that's required when towing. It really has been a tossup lately thinking of some of the newer vehicles out there and looking between the Ranger and an F150 with the 5.0L V8. I guess maybe if I ever get the tractor I want for the property I would most likely need the F150 to pull a trailer that would be big enough to handle the tractor. Only looking at a Kubota BX2680 with the loader...which I think may only be around 2500-3000lbs max, but the trailer I'd assume would weigh maybe 2k as well, which would make me think I would need at least an F150, or possibly an F250? Don't want anymore vehicles LOL. If I get a new vehicle its replacing the Bronco 2 and my current Ranger LOL.
