Find a Vehicle using VIN and TITLE number

Ok i want to find a car i previously owned. This cars was very dear to me since it was my first car i ever had when i was 16yrs old, im 26 now and want to find this card again. Things i have and know, I have a original copy of my vehicle registration from the DMV and i know who we sold it to (We traded it in on a car lot). OK so what im wondering is, is there a way to goto the DMV and have them look up the current car owner or some search i can use to find the car.

go slip an employee of a title loan place $10 to run the vin through their system, all title loan places have databases that they use to verify that customers documents are not forged. i.e. titles, registrations etc. here in utah its called "TLR" they can find current ownership records using either the vin, license plate #, or owners name
