Finally, my official project truck

its me again, could you elaborate on your clutch setup? including the mods you made for clutch safety switch, and transmission/ o2 sensor harness as well as your external set-up, from reading i saw you had travel issues. been trying to figure this one out for weeks and im stumped
By the way..I depinned the entire automatic harness out of the Explorer harness. ONLY wires going under the truck are the front o2 sensors,(rear are deleted and not needed) back up lights to the t5.
Explain all this once I get back home and the safety neutral switch. Very easy!

Would be much appreciated

I thought I had wrote out a bunch of info.. hmm..guess not.

So on the transmission harness..this is what you "can" do , definitely not required. I'm running. T5. Thka goes for any manual transmission using an explorwr harness.
The wires on the transmission plug are the only wires going under the truck on the passenger side out of the transmission harness.
4 are the 02 sensor
2 are the back u lights
2 are safety neutral switch(pins 16 and 8)

((Safety Neutal Switch bypass))
You take puns 16 and 8 on the transmission connector and simply cut and solider them together. This it. I traced pin 16 and 8 back up to the 42 pin connector, then looped those two wires together because I got rid.of that bulky transmission plug.
WARNING: THE WIRES ON THE 41 PIN CONNECTOR ARE ''''"NOT'''" THE SAME PIN NUMERS ON THE TRANSMIASION PLUG ITSELF.
I don't remember the numbers were, just follow pin 16 and 8 back up to the 42 pin connector

I very carefully took all the wires out of the harness completely. Depinned them like they never ere there. Takes time and is not necessary, but really makes more room.

Here isa pic of the piece of angle iron its only 1/8..DO NOT USE 1/8 INCH it flexes to bad.

Below is pics of the external clutch "parts" you'll need on a T5
(1) 6 inch 3/8 cariage bolt
(2) 3 inch 1/2 carrige bolt, find the shortest you can, you only need the head off of it ..
(3) 6 3/8 nuts
(4) 8 3/8 lock washers
(5) 3/8 acorn nut
(6) a very good 1/2 drill bit

Stay tuned..... traveling at the moment...

Ok.. so on the clutch stuff..
On the smallest 1/2 inch cariage bolt you can find, all you need is the head off of it. Cut it off. Mark the center of it and drill a 1/2 inch hole in the center...

Once you get that done take the threaded 3/8 rod and set it up like this with the accorn nut.. I rounded off the points on it, you don't have to but I did. It fits perfect in the 280 slave cyl..
You take the 3/8 threaded rod put a 3/8 nut on the end, then slide the 1/2 cariage bolt head on the 3/8 rod . The carrier bt head sits up against that bolt. The carrage head then sits on the clutch fork.. you can kinda seen it in this pic on how to set the threaded rod up.. This is another member on here, Jeff, his truck. I set mine up the exact same way

very helpful thank you, and f550 master, along with a few fittings for hydraulics correct?

Yes..I believe mine was from a 99 f550..

You need to take thw clutch switch apart.. and grind about an 1/8 inch off the plastic slider.. AND take an 1/8 inch off the back aide.of the clutch peddle. Why? Because the f550.clutxh master has about an 1/8th inch more throw. I'm going to play with adding about an inch the ranger clutch rod. The one that hooks to the clutch peddle. The peddle will sit higher.. but I think it will let the engagement up off the floor more.

I know which wires coming from expo harness. also im going to try my stock clutch switch first as is, if not look for one like u have pictured. It seems as tho if I get mine apart, it won't go back together. You and others on this site are very helpful. I had to modify pedal bracket to accept new master, like u did. I DESPISE working upside under a steering wheel! Got clutch stuff in, need to bleed master, and adjust rod at slave. I can't get the ranger pushrod to snap into 550 master, its in just not secured like the original ranger was, as in it will easily come back out when unattached from pedal. Did yours snap in?

Edit: I tried again the next morning, snapped right in. So I guess I wasn't holding my mouth right. Who knows?

I just seen one identical in my area for sale same amount but have fun with the v8 swap. I just got done doing an s10 v8 swap. If you don't have a 302 yet find one get the newer block they are roller motors and have gt40p head if you don't want to spend some extra cash on parts. Like 96 to 01 explores and mercury.

Can a 2001 explorer 302 engine swap work perfectly in a ranger 3.0 1995 auto?
I keep hearing there'd be PATS problem or so about the transponder?

Also, mine swap is 2wd 99 xlt to 2wd 99 xlt and I didn't need to change any wires at the connector for engine harness. I swapped the expoler PATs module (behind the passenger airbag) and zip tied the explorer key to the PATs transceiver ring installed explorer pcm and it fired right up.

Can't I apply this same method transferring the PATS module and all that, of a 2001 explorer 5.0l to a 1995 ranger? Won't it work?

how are you liking those 03 cobra wheels? and was front spacer necessary? @Junglejoe
