I have had this truck since 1998 it's been on and off the road and then put in storage 7 years ago. I kind of lost my storage last month, so I had to get it out. I was surprised it was in such good condition considering it hasn't seen the daylight in so long. I was amazed that after putting in a little gas and cranking it a few times it started right up! I gave it a quick inspection and found not rot , everything is still solid. I will be slowly restoring it in my spare time. The good thing is parts are cheap! It's need a couple dents pulled, two new fenders they just are not worth trying to fix the dents and paint of course but otherwise the rest of the body and bed are solid. The interior is mint no real problems there. The truck only has 81K runs pretty good but needs a good tune up and oil change to run perfectly.

Very cool little rig. I remember when they came out with those. take good care of it (if you cant find any, I may have the stock fenders off my 84 around somewhere, would need painted to match, but they are in perfect shape. No dent, not cut up)

Awesome!! Loved em then. Love em more now. That's a cool version to have and should be a fun project to restore. And it is soooo '80s!!

Thanks guys, I already ordered the fenders from LMC truck BLOODBANE but thanks for the offer. These are supposed to be fairly rare I have heard estimates of between 300 and 600 produced. I have only seen one other in the wild and it was pretty much junk. Not sure what production numbers are correct. Pretty much it's a Ranger XLT with additions.

From the info I got from a very good source these were sent from the factory to Scherer Truck Equipment Inc. in Kansas City, MO for the addition of all the Bigfoot stuff. Roll bar, KC lights, power rear window, rear bumper, Tonneau cover and the decal set. Not sure what else they did I know mine had 4:10 gears in it The previous owned blew the rear end and replaced it with the standard Ranger XLT rear end that proved to be wrong 3:73 gears which blew pretty quick when he put it in 4WD. Right now it has 3:73s and I have the front matching diff and a spare transfer case. My truck also came with a chrome front brush bar but not sure if that was a deal option or it came like that. The old owner said he bought it off the lot the way it is.

It's a shame Scherer Truck didn't number these before they sent them back to Ford or add a plate like Shelby did with the Mustangs. When I pull the seats out I hope to find the original build sheet.

If I could go back to 1987 I would so order up one of those bad boys for myself.
