I finally "finished the finish" this spring: washed, polished, and waxed my 2003 Edge. It took about six hours. The job could have gone a lot faster except the buffers I use go very slow. I don't mind that. It keeps me from burning through the clearcoat. This is the second time I polished. It looks better than before, no doubt because the clear coat is finally flattened out.

A black finish is difficult to maintain. It shows every finger print and scratch. But then again, it sure cleans up good.

This is not a commercial for Turtle Wax. I'm no wax-and-buff aficionado. I chose the brand because it's the cheapest. But I have also learned that using one ceramic product line makes for a longer lasting shine. It lasted through winter anyway. I simply touched it up with a polish/wax hybrid in the difficult places and some detailer on the rest.

Black sure looks beautiful, when it's clean.
