Long time lurker here. I finally got done lifting my 05 2.3l 2wd ranger (Ya I know, but as a broke college kid that's what I'm working with). Spent a lot of time reading around on this forum gathering info, so thanks to everyone for the knowledgeable environment. Here are some recent pics and specs.

Specs:

3 inch spindles
2 inch coil spacer
2 inch rear blocks
2 inch rear shackles
3 inch body lift
(Comes to about 8" up front, 7" in the back)

15x8 chrome steelies
35 x 12.50 BFG MT KM2

06 Mirror Swap
4.10 rear end

I think I'm pretty much done for now. I don't wheel the truck too hard/often because it is my only daily driver. Maybe when i get out of school and get something else I will look into sas, etc..

Thanks again for your help!

Looking good! No need to apologize for what you're working on, young man. Everyone here understands budget constraints and such. Money's tight and times are hard, here's your f-ing Christmas card, right?!?! ;)

Your truck looks good. How does the 4 Banger do with those 35's?

Looks good, Bro!!! With those 35's and a 4 banger you really should have gone with a 5.88 gear. My 33's with the 4.10 is great with my 4.0 motor. I get 24 mpg on the highway with a roof rack. Run that 7.5 rearend until it blows and then get an 8.8.

4.10 is definitely low, but its manageable around town. If I go above 50 I usually turn over-drive off to prevent gear hopping. Will look into 8.8 and higher ratio down the road for sure.

Getting about 18 mpg consistently so not terrible, but also not great for a 2.3 haha.

Another thing is, I read some places that stuffing a 35 is not doable. But I have had the rear (haven't tried the front) stuffed way in the wheel well and they seem to be made for the 35. I think 35s are legitimate for a true wheeling rig IMO. (only one opinion though)
