Few pics of my old Ranger

MORE, MORE, MORE pics PLEASE!!!!!

Thanks for the kind comments:cool:
The engine was dropped into place with a tractor loader as I didn't have a cherry picker and all I had to weld with was the typical, ancient 220 buzzbox arc welder found on all ranches....
Whatever it takes sometimes!:clapping:

I still remember driving it into town 40 some miles with open manifolds to get exhaust put on it. What a bangin' headache I had when I got there. LOL
I'll bet..........that's a LONG WAY on open manifolds!:tease:

Not sure what to do with the bed yet. was thinking spray bedliner, make an aluminum tonnue cover or how about just flat black paint? Any suggestions, as I'm kinda on the fence on this one?
Cheapest would be the flat black paint or get ya a cheap vinyl tonneau cover like I did......

The exhuast tip I built from .080 sheet aluminum, bent and TIG welded over a couple of exhaust adapters. Turned out pretty good for a couple hours work. I just wanted something differant. It exits out in front of the right rear, kinda like the Lightnings do.
Let's see some right side shots so we can see this SWEET homemade exhaust tip!

For the bed, I vote spray-in bedliner. I have one in my truck and it looks DAMN good. Just as good, if not better than, paint. It's also maintenance-free, you don't even really have to wash it, just rinse it off with a hose. And, it's tough enough so that you can still actually load things into the truck if you wanted to and you won't even scratch it. Even if you do scratch it, it's repairable. Mine cost just under $400, but I got the bed-rails sprayed too.

very nice gen 1, Eventually i'm going to do a gen 1/2 street truck as a project but i need to get finished school first. Just by seeing your truck makes me want to do it a whole lot sooner.

By chance are those mustang rims on it?

Sorry all, for the slow response....hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving.

I'll get some more pics taken after I get it put back together and cleaned up alittle. Trans will be going back in tonight so maybe this weekend I'll get a few more shots of it.

After some consideration, I think I'm going to simply "black out" the bed for the time being. I have been constantly fighting off the "snowball effect" the entire time I have been doing this project. Also known as the "law of sensuous"...For example: (since you was) going to pull the interior out, put a cage in or (since you was) gonna pull the bed off, now would be a great time to do a 4 link, etc, etc.<wink>

I keep thinking of doing some suspension work and I have a few things I want to try and experiment with. So I'm going to paint it flat black for now and then when it comes time to mini tub it I wont have to try and work around that. Great advise nevertheless...thank you guys. It'll get done, just not yet.

Oh, before I forget any questions,

Yes, they are late model Mustang "bullitt" wheels scaped together off of Ebay.
1" spacers in front and nothing needed for the rear. I liked the "torque-thrust" look and the 17 x 8 fill the wheelwells alittle better. Tire size is 255 50 17 on the front and 275 45 17 in back. Rollout is actually pretty close between the two sizes, just needed more width in back.

I have not dragraced this current version yet, but I tried a few runs with the first version with the old Comet 2v motor. Seems I ran a 13.8 @ 92 or so(horrible traction on a terrible track) ...Been a long time but I do think I have the timeslips somewhere.

Again, Thanks for all the great comments, they are appreciated very much.

how about a pic of the interior black and chrome is awesome

nice truck! you need to set up a cardomain page or something, with all your pics and a list of mods--then someone could nominate you for street truck of the month!
