Feast your eyes on this....if you like F-150's

Get some black nerf bars.. And black grill guard. Then donate the truck to a poor ole miss student... Hmmm that's me! Lol. That's a nice f150 man.

Very nice. I actually like it when members post up stuff like this. It makes me have an urge......to wash and was the Ranger.

That is a very clean truck for, especially for a '97. It overall looks somewhat familiar... :icon_confused:

Is that still the original sidepipe? Not many of those still floating around. My brother's '97 like most got the update to run it on out behind the tire. It also got a new wheel and 5 new lugnuts under warrenty because of corrosion. Might keep an eye on your fancy aftermarket wheels...

Don't get black nerf bars either. They might go better with your truck now, but after they get pummeled by rocks and sand, rust and start falling apart they don't look so good. Chrome or better yet stainless hold up MUCH better.

Yeah, every time I wash it, I think to myself "Damn that's pretty sexy" "why don't I do this more often?"

I'm sure it looks familiar, there's about a million two tone 97-03's running around. I've seen plenty that are very similar, but never one exactly like it. Usually they have the honeycomb grill, or it's not a lariat or something.

Yes it is the original sidepipe before the wheel. I love the way it looks. Some people don't like it because "it shoots exhaust on to the wheel", but in my opinion your truck shouldn't be spitting out any smoke in the first place, or anything else that will foul up your wheel/tire. I agree about the nerf or round tube steps....not a big fan. Everyone and their mother has them, and you constantly have to touch them up. Now that I think about it, I might just fab them up myself, I have all the means to do so, and most of the material.

Mine is the same scheme is what I was getting at. I too have never seen a twin to what mine was originally with the stamped polished aluminum rims and 4x4 sticker. I did find a near twin that had 5 spoke cast aluminum rims, it was kinda freaky. Mine just had the exhaust then so I parked next to it to mess with the guy. Really the black with silver trim isn't all that common around here though, but is more common with the 97-98's than the later trucks.

My brother's exhaust was updated under warrenty in late '97 (truck was built in May) along with the wheel according to Oasis, so it should have still been running pretty good. It had the goofy 6 spoke whees where two were kind of with each other, maybe that was the difference why some had problems and some didn't. It isn't so much the smoke, but I think it was the fumes. It still runs great but is now sporting duals (I scalped his original exhaust and put on my Ranger)

Mine has had chrome looking Lavurne nerf bars since I got it in '05, they came with the truck, they still look perfect.
