When I had my Gen I dash I had to take it apart more than once and my favourite tool was a 3" ratcheting screwdriver with a set of bits in the handle...I used the Phillips fine point star to dismantle almost the entire cab...
It was especially nice getting those 4 screws that held the top of the dash to the firewall...just put in a long bit and knock yourself out.
Currently my favourite tool is a $4,000 prosthetic leg...it has a nice green aluminum shaft that I like to let kids gawk at as I hobble by them...lol...but otherwise I can walk around looking at my Ranger and even kick the tires with it...still working on the getting up and down off the ground and crawling around muttering to my self but that will come...
