finally starting to look like a complete truck.

got the passenger handlebar in, old man is not as nimble as us young guys... going to have to buy him an hr with a hot young masseuse

got two gauges installed, these were easy.... installing the mechanical gauges are not going to be as easy. We are going to have to build a mount that the dash slips over the 3 mechanical gauges.

i was really hoping to get the 7200c, but it is a tad to big. The new hds 7m is a 1/2" skinnier and almost a 1/2" shorter. Will probably go this route, but don't know if I can justify the increase over the hds 5m for only a 1.5" bigger screen.

All gauges are in minus the tach I still need to get. There are going to be 3-5 lights behind the steering wheel, one above gps, and all the switches and breakers in the middle. Except the starter and horn button. Fuel level gauge, had to lower it a tad due to steering wheel mount bars.

third mech mounted (eng oil temp) and now that we completed the console fab and stuff, paint was next. I leave tomo to cali for a few days, their going to either build the fiberglass console, or cut underneath to 360 weld the seat mount tubes

Some of the work that was done while I was gone.

Transmission filters are mounted and the lines to the transmission have been run. May build a small skid for it, but right now the tall filters are fine, no need to switch to a smaller filter.

Started fully welding the seat mount tubes, and finished other small things

Got the skeleton built for the center console, ready to start laying glass.

I brought back some autometer warning light sensors. Monday going to order the fuel safe bulkhead electrical connectors for the dual in tank fuel pumps. Also going to order our center support, I was searching for a spicer assembly but all I kept finding was just the 1.5748 bearing. So I will probably order the IED poly version and if it does not have a spicer bearing I will upgrade it.

Got all the electrical components and draw requirements laid out in a nice excel spreadsheet. We are looking at 24/25 breakers (each size indicated), 19/20 sealed switches, and it also tells us the circuits amp draw, what size wire we are going to use, what weatherpack connector needed, and what dash tag we are going to use. I plan to post a copy of the excel sheet when we are done with all of the electrical setup, I am sure there are quite a few people who would be interested in having it, since many of the components I use are common for everyone. It is very easy to understand. All the info was obtained from the manufacture or their website.

Thanks, that will be great. Have you been keeping track of your material and labor costs? That would be great info [maybe a wake-up slap] for those thinking of following in your tracks.

you really do not want to know, i have been keeping receipts of mostly everything.... but on consumables and incidentals I have probably spent 2 grand so far, thats only counting:

grade eight bolts and hardware, spray paint, welding wire, welding gas, throw away paint brushes, plastic mixing cups, fiberglass resin, mat, bondo, acetone, wd40, rust converter, undercoating, roll on bed liner, cut off wheels, sawzall blades, flapper discs, grinding discs, air grinder wheels, small clamps and tools, gloves, blue masking tape and foil tape.... list goes on..

then if i factor in all the parts I have bought or gotten from sponsorship, plus all the metal I originally got and have had to buy twice.... When it comes down to it, labor has been the cheapest even with the money that was given to the previous shop for nearly free with the condition I got the truck back in and my new parts and time frame it was gone.

In the end I may add the receipts up, but in reality i dont think I want to know.

thanks we take the extra time to try and do stuff that no one has done before. try to come up with new ways of doing things or just different frame designs then what you see everyone else doing. that you for your compliments

how unspeakable... i had to give up girl friend and dating and everything else. Every penny i have after paying bills i spend on my truck. were hoping to buy the rest of the things we need this next month. maybe not gps, thats a 1000 right there.

We got back on the truck yesterday, we were able to modify the center support mount we built. It goes in the truck tomorrow, I am still waiting on parts the replacement shaft got backordered. The driveshaft should be here within first week of september, I am hoping my connectors show up I order from another guy. Got the tach and ram coming from ORW. We are placing the order for all the electrical parts end of this week.

the support is welded into the brace, the bearing is clamped down on by a strip of 3/16 and 1/8 with 1/8" lips to keep from twisting.

New spare tire mounts, doing one side completely first but making both sides at same time. Driver side has the bedside tube and a hoop left to complete it, we used miter cuts to get a nice tight fit against the tire.
