Hay there-
Long time lurker, first time posting.

In an effort to add a tach to my truck;
Installed a gauge cluster from a '93 (v6 4x4) into my '90 (4cyl 4x2) today.
Being physically the same, the install was easy-
Buuut... I was, at best, crossing my fingers with the wiring, since I wasn't sure it would work out

Well- it didn't. lol
The backlighting only comes on when I flick the highbeams, the volts gauge sweeps with activation of the left blinker, and various other 'miscommunications'...

Was wondering if anyone has done this with any success?
(Would rather not go the aftermarket tach route)

Thanks in advance for any insight!
Seth

I was thinking that the wiring was the same for most all the years but maybe its not or you got plugs crossed? I'm wondering did you try to run a new wire for the tach to work? If not you will have to find the pinouts for both years and see whats different. :icon_confused:
