Those are an hour or so from me... if they were a bit closer I would probably go have a look. Got my mind set on a New Bronco and if I ever build another truck... it is coming from a rust free state.

I kinda thought this might be Bird selling off a couple parts trucks... but he is way south in Illinois.

Would be a couple good used cheap parts trucks for a guy that needed them. One of them in the photos looks like a buildable unit.

If i had more time id go snap em both of get them running good and sell them (or keep one) just to keep them on the road.

Stuff like these older RBVs are disappearing and should be kept around as more then just scrap fodder.

I even have a complete 94 that runs and drives (4.0L M5OD) and would be perfect to transplant into the nicer one. I myself have no time or any more space. Bring a BIG trailer and swing by so you can pick up the 94 too.

Going back to your TRS 2020 goals post... you said project truck as a goal. How about a Bronco II?

I will totally donate my 94 to a project for TRS.

Jim, for some of us old farts a Durasparked 2.8 is a "modern drivetrain".

I'm reasonably close... there are a few others here in Illinois. Bird comes to mind... but he seems to have flown the coupe. No pun intended.

A project like this just isn't in the realm of possibilities for me at this current time.

I get that some guys like modern stuff shoved in old vehicles, but to me it ruins its soul. Its just another vehicle with a better looking body.

Id buy it, get it running good, throw a 4 inch lift and 31s/33s on it and run it.

I need to just quit thinking about this... I've nearly got myself talked into going to have a look at these Bronco's.

My plan would be to swap the 4.0L and M5OD and gutting it. Make a Northern Michigan trail truck.

I'm exactly the same way. I love these old trucks the just the way they were built, and that's how I keep my "collection". But, I'm also very interested in what the off-road AND the street-custom guys are doing to their trucks. I have a lot of respect, and admiration, for a well-thought out build or modification, and I love seeing good old-fashion craftsmanship. There are people here who are honestly mechanical artists.

And I can also understand taking a classic design (the dearly departed Bronco II is coming up on being 36 years old, after all), and modernizing the drivetrain, suspension, interior and electronics. Even I'll be the first to admit, the comfort and driveability of classic cars (trucks) and new cars are like two different worlds.

Here's food for thought. Can you imagine a display (say, at someplace like SEMA) consisting of these three vehicles:
1) An early Bronco II, restored to "day 1" stock as-left-factory condition, brand-new clean and sporting its window sticker.
2) A new 2020 Bronco II (is that even what they're calling it?).
And right in between them:
3) An early Bronco II body, on a modern or trick better suspension, with the new drivetrain, and with the modern interior and all of the electronic gadgetry.
All in the same basic paint scheme.

Yes. Honestly, if I built a SEMA vehicle, I'd like to do a modernized Bronco II because the Bronco is so hot, but nobody does a Bronco II build.

Never owned a full size or a BII... If I had a choice it would certainly be a BII. I could get my first gen fix too... Bonus!

I've got myself about talked into having a look at these... I'm gonna have to discuss it with the wife. As much as I would like to build one... I don't want to make it my sleeping quarters.
