hey sorry if this has been touched on, but i've spent hours searching and continue to get the same thing. I have an 85 ranger that i'm in the process of swapping a d35 and while i got everything ripped out i'd like to add in some extened rad. arms. I'm aware that several companies make these but the cost is too steep for my wallet. SO the question is, would a set of arms off a fullsize bronco or f150 work on my ranger? the vehicle is a budget builder and is more junk yard parts then stock now. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

im pretty sure the arms are to skinny at the beam mounting points. i've seen pictures of a d44 swap into a ranger and the ranger radius arms needed a washer as a shim. so that means the d35 is "fater" and you'll need to mod the radius arms to get them to fit. iif i was to try it i would get te radius arm mounts as well

so there are no other years that might work? i just cant see spending 5-600 on ex. rad arms when i only paid 800 for the truck. i just might have to leave the stock ones until i decide the route i wana go with this beast.

seems i saw somewhere that someone had extended the older f150 arms. this could be done with the ranger arms i suppose.

Many here have extended the stock arms with some large thickwall tubing.

More pics are on my BII Cardomain page.

Just be sure to use a decent welder if you do this, a little 110v buzzbox will not be enough for this type of work.

Check out the classifieds on race-dezert.com and dezertrangers.com tons of cheap parts. I think you could modify 2wd extended radius arms to work.
