f150 diesel?

The triton V-8s are the small blocks all over.

The 4.6 is a nice, peppy engine. The 5.4 is kinda gutless. It has the torque, but can't hold out at the top end.

The 5.8 was the same way. It's a dog. The 5.0 was awesome.

I hate Hybrids... there really is no sense to them... You get Great Mileage when you just drive it around (like probably 80% of truck owners do) but when you have to do real work they limited the engine a bit to get the hybrid stuff in there that it isn't as powerful and gets crap mileage. A diesel on the other hand gets good mileage not doing anything and... good mileage towing stuff... gasp!

Agreed! Hybrids are the fad right now though. I think they're pretty gay any way you look at em. Not good for anything unless all your driving is in the city. On a hybrid Escape, you'll notice on the window sticker it gets like 32 mpg city but only like 24 hwy. Backwards when compared to regular cars. So, if you live in the city, good, but I can't see it justifying that extra 10K on the sticker.

AMEN!

Hybrids are a band-aid over a through and through gun-shot wound. More than half the time the practical ones get the same or worse mileage than the same engined gasser. They really only save you gas if you idle it all day. The Fusion hybrid is about the best on out there. It actually achieved a decent mileage increase, isn't a huge dog, and I've even gotten them to go into, and stay in, hybrid mode for long periods on the highway.

Plus they are a PITA to work on. Especially anything brake related. I HATE hybrids. Gimme clean diesel any day.

really? if so, i'm no longer wishing that i went and did the extra work to fit a 351 instead of my 302...

That changes a bit in a truck as light as the ranger, but generally, in the factory applications, the 351 is a boat anchor. It's longer stroke gives in more bottom end, but it weighs so much more than it can't really keep up at the higher speeds. My dad's 351 truck barely makes it to 65. Some of it is gearing, a lot of it the the engine.

A guy I know has a bored .30 5.0 that out does our 351.

so, stock for stock, in your average 2wd f150, which is faster to 60?

I'd put my money on the 5.0.

If you're serious about buying a new one, or any new Ford for that matter, let me know and I can give you an X-plan pin number to save you a couple more bucks.

how long does that offer stand, im goin for a new 150 in the nex 18 months or so?

Any time. I've been an employee for nearly 10 years now, don't plan on changing any time soon. I can't do it until you're ready to purchase as the pin number is only good for like 30 days or something. Just pm me when you're ready. I'll need personal info just so you know but I assure you I'm not some scammer or anything. The X-plan is good for another couple thousand off the sticker and you still get whatever incentives are going on at the time like the 0% or cash back offers.

Would this work on an f-250 as well?

Any Ford Lincoln or Mercury vehicle. And a select few Mazdas I think. Not sure if Ford has completely sold that nameplate yet. Used to get the Range Rover, Volvo and Jags too but Ford sold them off.
