ok I'm going to make me some(well just extending my stock ones) and was wanting to know if.....

1) Ya'll put any kind of bend in them?b/c it looks like the stock ones bend back into the frame. and the way I've seen pics it looks like extended ones just kind of go straight back.

2) If yall knew of a way to get the lower bolt out of the bottom of the radius braket on the axle?

3)Do you need extended brake lines? and if so which are the best(and cheapest lol)?

just make your frame brackets where u want them, take the springs out the front take the arms off, cut them, put them back on and go from there, seems like the easiest way

You should build some caster into the arms depending on how high of a lift you have and how low you want your brackets to hang.

1 1/8 socket, an air impact, and heat on the bolt to soften the factory thread locker, same with the stud that holds the upper ear of the radius arm on. A big breaker bar/pipe will work too.

Do you have any lift on the truck?

Heres a build up of my arms

You could experiment with bending them right where you would attach the tubing. You would need to make a jig so that you could duplicate the bend on the other side. However, I would think they are stronger without bends. Mine dont rub that much and it rubs on the round tube area so it doesnt tear up the tires.

As for the bolt, I just used a breaker bar with a pipe on the end. They can be super tight!

At the time, I bought Duff lines. with the extended arms, you will get alot more movement. However, now I just head down to a place down the street and they can make stainless braided brakelines for much cheaper than you can buy in a kit.

just search "radius arms" in the search bar, there'll be a bunch of threads that come up. you can get a lot of good ideas from them.

to get that bolt out, take a butane torch and heat up the bolt for about a minute. then take your socket and start pulling. i hit the end of my ratchet with a 3lb. mallet to get it started, came right out.

This is some good stuff! Radius arms are on my to do list also. Does it ever end! NOPE!

It's a good idea to put some bend into them, so that you can get your brackets as close to the frame as possible.

Breaker bar, big arms, maybe a torch

Brake lines can be found here:

Here are some good threads on Radius Arms

no i dont have any lift on the truck. And as for the bolt I'm going to try more on it tomorrow...I tried with my impact but it just dont have the guts to get it...lol or maybe its the compressor..

You need heat on it...even just a small propane torch...the locktight is was is keeping it in there.

heat is all it needed. That must be some good stuff I even broke my craftsman ratchet tryin to get it loose.

ok when i cut the bolt off of my arm where do I cut it at the end of the bolt or after it goes into the bent part of the arm where its welded down the side?

I cut my arms right at the point where the tubing would lay securely into the backside of the arm to be welded.

The ends I then cleaned up (leaving just the end part of the original arm on them) so they would fit into the end of the tube.

yeah it is pretty easy. even if you dont have a welder, you can do them for under $100. it's crazy that the skyjacker and duff arms are over $500

hey junkie, what wall thickness was your tubing?
