how much do you think a local shop would charge on welding something up like that?

we have a 4 wheel parts store here in raleigh, the guy said he'd charge me $20 to fully weld the spring perches on my 8.8, so i'm thinking somewhere along those lines, maybe less

do you have any scrap yards in raleigh? im going down to a local scrap yard today to get mine...

i bet we do, i guess i just dont know where to look....when i was in school, there was a steel yard in montgomery (bama) that would deliver to us. you could get all sorts of different lengths/sizes/thicknesses as well as 4x8 sheets....got a nice discount too

has anyone ever thought of moving the stock radius arm bracket back instead of making new ones?

i'm thinking of reusing my old one and just moving it right in front of my tranny cross member

2" O.D. x 1.5" I.D. (.250" wall) DOM (A513-5) 1020 tubing to be exact (about a 20" long piece for each arm). :icon_cheers:

As for reusing the stock frame brackets, a problem is the downward angle they have after you move them, they are no longer on the slanted part of the frame (also they will only be as strong as stock). Anything can be done with a little fab work though.

4x4junkie, you're a great guy lol.. thanks for that info

and i wouldn't use the stock brackets. i'd make some that are a lower profile, stronger, looks better.. yada yada

anyone know if the duff eb arm brackets will bolt up to a b2? im getting some tube tomorrow from my dad who works at a steel fab plant.

how about 1/8" wall 2" square. too thin?

Yup...too thin. Stick with 1/4" wall.

Mine are .250 wall 2" square tube

well i got one side made and half way installed gonna try and get it finished tomorrow and take some pics.

Gonna work on the other one next week.

get some pics up of what you've already got done. id like to see. im in the process of workin on mine.
