explorer interior swap

anyone know if the dash from a 99 explorer limited will fit in an 04 ranger? i expect a lot of electrical since i want all the fancy gauges and switches and auto climate to work. the reason for this is since im looking at using that explorer for parts to aid in the 5.0 swap and the ranger i have is the base model with vinyl everything and nothing else.

Do a google search for eatc swap. There is lots of very detailed how to's to do the climate control mod. I did it in my truck..It is a great mod. If you can't find the how to, send me a PM. I have it in a PDF file.

I figure I can swap all the wiring and sensors but im wondering if the dash and center console will fit. Also I just remembered a bit ago truck will be manual... yet another challenge.

Same dash. The ex is wider, but the difference is made in the door panels. Just leave the harness in the dash when swapping over, then swap the underhood harness to the 5.0 version, and you'd have an almost plug-n-play swap.

...or are you talking about just swapping the instrument panel...?

99 Explorer console should fit right in a 04 Ranger. Do another Google search for Explorer console in Ranger. Lots of guys have done it. Auto's and 5 speeds. Dashes are the same.

thats exactly the news i wanted. i figured swap the whole dash and wiring would be the easiest overall for the entire project. thanks for the info.
