Just wondering is this a direct bolt in or do I need a D35 out of a 90 BII. Or will a D35 out of a 1992 Ranger fit in.

The BII is a 1989

The Exploder is a 1993

Don't see why It wouldn't be. Most of the D-35 donors are Explorers.

Driveline length is the only issue you may have. Otherwise 100% bolt in.

yes yes and yes
i took a dana 35 out of an xploder and put in my b2 i had then took it back out and put it in my explorer cause it have 4.88s and a locker

The only problem you will have is the front drive shaft if you don't swap in a BW1354 transfer case. If you swap in a BW1354 transfer case, then you can use the Explorer front drive shaft without any problems.

mjonesjr has a good point i dint think of that cause i already had that transfercase

Thats no problem was going to swap the t-case out with it all probably anyways.

Next though does anyone know if a D35 out of a 92 ranger would fit or is it a different width.

Only reason I am not sure is that I took the axles out of my ranger and the rear 8.8 axle is a couple inches narrower than the Bronco II (with the 7.5 or what ever it is) and my explorer with the 8.8 looks to be a little wider than the BII's. So I am not sure but the front should be close to the same width as rear to keep tires all in line on same track.

Wider is no issue that would help lessen the roll over potential anyways

Thanks James

I am pretty sure they're the same width or damn near, within maybe an inch. The Explorer 8.8s are wider though.

same axle between b2 and rangers and for the 35 they are the same between b2 X's and rangers

but if you can find a 95-97 ranger 2 pull the 35 from you will get better brakes as they have dual piston calipers and removable caliper brackets(fyi)

My left side is a 35 off of a 93 Ranger. My right side is off a 92 explorer hopefully there the same.

The explorer D35 is a different width than the B2 or Ranger D35.

My B2 came with a D35 and it was even with the fenders. Now I have a D35 from an explorer and my tires stick out. The explorer D35 is the same track width as the explorer 8.8.

There is some other reason, because the axle beams and knuckles are exactly the same...

track width of the front relative to the rear axle is a seperate issue
it's completely normal (but stupid from a design standpoint)

The '83-92 ranger rear was narrower than any front axle.

The 1993-up ranger axle is 2" wider

The D35 is wider than the D28.

Stock drop brackets, the rest is explorer...

The front end is a good 1.5" wider on each side than the rear. With the stock D35, it was even front to back.

All im saying is the frontend is wider than it was and the only difference in my setup is the TTB from an explorer.

Must've been a D28 before, which is narrower.

All D35s are the same width regardless of the vehicle it comes from.
