I have a '94 Explorer passengerside shaft and a '91 Ranger driverside shaft in my '94 Ranger D35. Everything fits together 100% perfect.
At no point has anyone ever mentioned they ran into a shaft not fitting into their D35 because it was a different width.
Dunno what else to tell you...

auto zone shows same part num 4 all models 90-94
just looked @ ur thread and that is indeed a 35 so idk why it would have been narrower
