Explorer Axle Swap Questions

I used my factory master cylinder with a disc 8.8 and D44 swap. Works fine. I had to turn out the adjusting screw on the pedal rod a bit because they were pretty soft but that fixed it. I don't know if trucks newer than mine have the adjustable screw or not.

I didn't have to adjust anything on my MC.. wouldn't mind making the pedel a little firmer though. Anyone know if the MC on an 04 can be adjusted?

I would imagine so, but I don't know for sure. Unbolt your master cylinder from the booster and look at the end of the rod that cames out of the booster. If there is a screw there, then yes. Just don't go too far with it. Your brakes will drag and/or lock up. Adjust in very small increments.

By small amounts he means 1/4 to 1/8 turns at a time. It only takes a small amount to firm the pedal. Yes it will take awhile but its better than dragging brake shoes. Also make sure to fully bleed the brakes before adjusting the rod. You wouldn't want to adjust it then pull air out of the lines and again cause your brake pads to drag on the rotors.
