I'm tossing around the idea of building a truss for the top of my new 8.8 and welding it on. I've already welded the tubes to the center section. Just wondering if i'm wasting my time with building and welding a truss onto it or if I should do it up.

Yay or nay?

Depends on the kind of suspension you're running and how big you want to go.

Just make sure you incorporate leaf spring perches and other things into the brain storm. A buddy made a truss and forgot to put leaf perches on....

Yea my truss would only extend 12" on the drivers side and 14" on the passenger side to leave room for the spring pads and u bolts.

I'm just wondering if the the truss is worth the work

Unless you are planning on linking it, or plan on jumping your rig, I don't think that I would bother.

hick

No links as of yet...not out of the question tho down the road, but by that point it will probably be sporting a full width 8.8

And nope I don't jump the truck, just trails, rocks, and the such
