exhaust welding help

Sure. No problem. Just use the low power setting and slow the wire speed down enough to keep it in a continuous weld. Use 'stitch' welding to keep it from burning through and deforming.

Stich welding? Could you please explain a little? Do you me just tiny tack welds all the way around?

Yes, it makes it easier to not burn through if your not too good at welding thin stuff. Like this:

An experienced welder could do it in a few beads, if not just one or two. Like me. :)

Awesome thanks for your help. I just got this welder and have yet to mess with it, so I'm going to get some extra of the peices I plan to use so I can do some practicing

Once you get good at welding, it can get fun :icon_welder:

stiching isent really nessarry just keep the pudde moving if it starts to go stop let it cool

Does flux core mig work just as well as solid wire argon mig and will one stick to the other?

gasless flux core wont weld as nice as solid core mig with argon but flux core will work good enough for exhuast tubing. It might not look as nice but yet again neither do the welds on flowmasters. And with the flux core u'll get plenty penetration for the thin piping.

Thanks for the welding info. All I have is a couple of Stick welders. One neighbor has an argon mig and another has a flux mig. I figure one of them should be home this Saturday and I thought I'd reweld where the pipe has broke loose from the flowmaster.

its not striaght argon its a sheilding gas mix c25 75 argon 25 co2

Well here is the Flowmaster exhaust kit I used. CLICK HERE

This kit works great. It has just the right bends to build what you want for the ranger. I used .030 wire with my 110v chicago electric welder. It could not have worked better for me. It was kind of sloppy at first but it has been a while since I have mig welded. I'll out some pics up today. :icon_welder:
