i did. starting my pursuit of getting my pyrotechnic licence. 8 more shows and i can go for the test. last night was my second show in Jonesport Maine working with Central Maine Pyrotechnics, about 3n 1/2 hours east of augusta where the company is based out of. there were four of us, Tom, the leader guy, derek, shane and myself as helpers. it was a blast, literally even though one shell blew up 15 ft above us. i have a few pics too

hope you guys had a safe 4th, any stories? lets hear em!

Sounds like a good time!

A buddy of mine drank a bit too much before the firework show we went to. He ended up having us pull over on the way out of the show. Ironically it was a church parking lot he upchucked and passed out in. While my girlfriend waited with him I got a lift back to my truck. He rode home in the bed and his dad and I carried him to his bed.

Then I went to my girly's house for drinks and a happy independence night if you know what I mean.

Had a good 4th. The best fireworks are illegal :D I'm surprised nobody called the police on us :D

I miss the fireworks and beer back home, but i had a good one. We had our own fireworks show. It was an explosive time. We shot off a couople 120mm mortars, threw a couple hand grenades, shot off some 40mm grenades, all the while firing illumination rounds. lol

How do they put a fireworks display to music? That must require additional equipment.

computers, i dont know exactly how they do it but ive been to a show that was to music and it was pretty cool. but the company i work for doesnt do that. good ol road flares

Spend the day with the girlfriend, wandered around, met up some friends, then we blew stuff up. Finished the day off in the hot tub.:icon_thumby:

its with a huge switchboard is a way to do it, and the fuses are wired in, flip the switch and the fuse lights

my parents shot for the last 20 years, and my bro has for 5, its so much fun
o and that fanalie looks scary, i dont like boxed setups, they tend to explode, and another tip, when you string the fanalie in, cut like 3 inch slits in the end, twist the fuse itself(string with black powder on it) together, and a wrap or 2 of masking tape

they tend not to break, i hate the ziptie way

ill keep that tip in mind, just got to remember, this is only my second show lol im just followin who im workin for know what i mean jack? so far we havent had any problems with the cakes (boxes) the only thing is a couple of them shot slow so it was kind of like we had 2 finallies, when i get around to it, i took a video of the finally, so ill have to post that up and youll see what i mean. but youre right, it is so much fun but in a split second it could all be over:nopityA:

I wish I could have set off fire works. It used to be a yearly event, me and all my friends would go buy a crapload of fireworks. But this year Im sitting here in iraq. the iraqis gave us a fireworks show, blew up a HMMWV and an MRAP. both trucks destroyed, but luckily no one got hurt other than a minor concussion or 2. turned a 3 hour mission into 18hours.

Tried to watch the small town show, but it rained so that sucked.

Nice to here there are more people trying to get there licence out there. I have had my licence for 2 years and i worked under a great pyro for 6 years befor that. Here are some pic's of what i did this year...

^shit , thats nothing^

o and by boxes fanalie, i mean that theres racks side by site

like l l l l l l l l l l

instead of-------- in lines is much easer to re-light, ans safer to follow, plus it one explodes in the hole, you dont set off a huge chain reacton costing a couple grand in racks
all it was, was 2 eye hooks on each end of the racks and rebad pounded in

ill ask my bro if he has pix of that one^ lol

I had a great 4th!! Only lost one finger this year!!! :icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

I always love saying that!!

Mine wasn't bad either.

Took the 351W Ranger to the dragstrip and managed 11.94 @ 114 mph in the quarter.
Not bad for drag radials and no VHT.

Went home and watched fireworks.
