EV accidents

Yes, same type of things happened with the horse and first ICE vehicles

My brother lives in Regina (just for you @PetroleumJunkie412 ); he has friends with one of the new Mach e's. (I won't call an SUV a Mustang)

They commute daily from Lumsden to Regina for work (~100km round trip). They had no issues making the trip in -30 C weather this past winter. Plugging the EV in overnight was no different from plugging in an ICE in the same conditions. During summer, they drive commute all week on single charge.

Colleague in Scotland with Nissan Leaf likes fact that car always has full battery when he leaves the house.

Friends have summer vacationed from Toronto to Calgary (4k km) and back with their EVs with no range issues (and cost of <$100). Let see how far our ICE gets on one Benjamin Franklin...

800 miles in the truck, 1200 in the 05 mazda 6

One of these days ima go to Regina.

Probably try drop by and see my best friend @1990RangerinSK while I'm there.

My horse eats the grass in my field and drinks the water from my well, wagon requires very little maintenance
Why would I buy a stinky and noisy ICE vehicle for my trips to town, they are unreliable, its just a stupid FAD

If we only had internet and forums back in the early 1900's, lol
Once again...IC were superior to horses. EV's...are...not superior to what they are trying to replace.

Gas cars are more convienent, cause less worry (range), and one gas car can usually suit whatever need the person has.

Why do you think trucks/suvs are so popular? They can commute, haul the camper or boat on weekends, run to lowes for lumber, and still take roadtrips.

Plus...the fact remains only about 30% of people say they will buy an EV next time around....

Which is why they are trying to make EV's the only thing on lots...so they have to sell because the OE's went in way to deep on what is a niche market.

"Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it"

"I'll never get a ICE vehicle"
"I'll never fly on an airplane"
"I'll never get a computer"
"I'll never get a cell phone"
"I'll never get a smartphone"

"I'll never............"
Just human nature

Electric propulsion is superior to ICE in every way, which is why trains and ships have used electric propulsion, with diesel generators, for 50+ years, first diesel/electric was 1925
First electric "train" 1879

Only current issue with personal propulsion is "range" which will be continually extended as time goes by
Reason EVs are now offered is because their range is now within general use parameters for 90% of the people
30 years ago it wasn't, even 20 years ago it was marginal , Ranger EV, 1998-2002, had a range of 60-70miles
Imagine what will be achieved in the next 10 years

"I'll never get an EV", of course not, lol

This is Eugene Sandow:

proxy-image (25).jpeg

Born 1867 in Prussia, Sandow was renowned for his physicality and feats of strength, and is sort of an enigma in the lifting world - he's one of the best documented physiques that we have before the discovery of anabolic stereroids and modern training methods.

Basically, he is seen as the maximum achievable physique that a man can have without the use of PEDs. I have a whole rant about how Sandow wasn't exposed to most of the modern test and baby gravy killers like soy, seed oils, microplastics, sugars, preservatives, em radiation, etc, and how this gives him an impossible advantageover modern 'builders - but that's a whole other rant.

I mean, my God, the man's quads rival Tom Platz, and high bar squatting wasn't even a mainline exercise at the time.

Of note, Tom Platz also does not drive an EV.

Point is:

Sandow never flew on an airplane
Sandow never logged in to a computer
Sandow never used a cell phone

And the man's test levels were easily in the 3200+ range.

How many tESLA owners have a test level even in the 2000s?

I dont care if they can go 1000 miles on a charge, get to 60 in 1 second and can float. Ill never buy one.

You dont get how dedicated i am to this.

Why? Because it doesn’t go VRRROOOOOM?

A Luddite is a person opposed to new technology or ways of doing things

And we NEED them, its why everyone didn't run out and buy 3D TVs, lol
New technology should always be suspect

Since we have luddites, we will also have "early adopters" aka technophiles, and we need them as well
Those of us that sit in the middle ground(me) watch what happens to the technophiles, lol, "better them that me", to see how things go, we are cowards, lol, but like to think of ourselves as prudent "thinkers", weighing the information that comes out

Anyway, everyone that flew on an airplane didn't die horribly in a crash, some did, but not ALL, so we, the majority in the middle, now fly regularly, hoping for the best, lol

And if most people with an EV are not electrocuted or die in an EV fire, this technology will probably be around a long long time
We(in the middle) will just wait and see, which is what we do best :)

@1990RangerinSK hails from Moosomin - that's practically in Manitoba. Although you might already be able to see Regina from there. :ROFLMAO:
