So what’s keeping you guys working? I’m a welder for the last 12 years, also ran a PTA hardfacing machine for the first 8 of that on and off and have been running and programming the burning table at work for the last 6ish years. All serving the paper industry. So what do you do?

My wife is a sex offender probation agent for the state of Wisconsin so she’ll always have work. She’s currently working from home.

I'm retired and entirely unessential. The dealership that bought out my former employer is open and operating. After years of no respect auto repair facilities are now admitted to be essential.

Fixing cars, getting less respect and extra pressure. People who now work from home and don't need to go anywhere apparently still want/need their cars fixed, but want to pay for it even less than before. I guess it's because they have to spend all their money hoarding TP and hand sanitizer now.

Spring planting season is upon us.

Ag repair = essential.

Oilfield, and well intervention at that, so still have yet to take a day off since December

I'm technically essential - I design critical equipment for the electric utility industry, and we've gotten quite a few letters from utilities requesting we keep supplying them. But the boss has decided to keep only a skeleton crew of manufacturing workers to crank out the critical orders, while new product development is going on remotely. Some of the software packages I use are running slow as hell and it's driving me crazy to work that way, but the commute is great! I expect to be heading in next week to do some tests if the parts for the prototypes get built.

My wife works at a supermarket. She was on self-quarantine since a co-worker tested positive, but her test was negative so she'll be going back on Sunday.

I’m aircraft fuel system maintenance for the Air National Guard on 60+ year old Air Refueling Tankers.

My girlfriend does in home healthcare.

Neither of which can be done remotely and the work always needs done.

WISP = Wireless Internet Service Provider
keeping internet services up and running

Senior diesel mechanic for the county government. I’m essential because “the county never closes”.
They did modify our schedule... they split the shift in thirds and only have 2/3s working at a time. So It’s 3 days working from home, then 6 days at work. We get paid our regular pay.
I have realized that we’re not essential, we’re expendable.

Engine calibration and assembly for industrial and marine applications, some of which are agriculture so we fit the bill apparently...

The phone calls have slowed down, but I still have a bunch of paperwork garbage to do for CARB, apparently our agent is a pain in the rear...

I don't see anything "essential" Bout my job except that the paycheck is essential to me. Maintenance tech at an auto manufacturing plant. Plant finally shut down due to lack of parts. Looks like the two week shutdown will be extended. But maintenance is still working. We're trying to get most of our July shutdown work completed now.

Very thankful to be working and getting paid even though they cut our hours severely.

IT for a local college that's in the whirlwind of adapting every course to the chaos.

Mailroom - Child support & General Taxes. We seem to be in it for the long haul. Our Governer did just credit every state employee with 80 hrs of leave time.

I Deliver essential stuff like grills and mulch etc... to expensive hardware stores. They think they are the Louis Futon of hardware.
