Escorts 2nd SAS

I didn't chop mine, and my frame is still 2-3" lower than the sliders. I am happy with them tucked up to the factory rocker.

Not chopping the rockers, just having them underneath.

Is that trailer done yet?
When you want to build a 24+4 goose, let me know LOL

To add to the super duty axle conversation, 99's had the old 8 lug non metric pattern, and I've been told you can just buy bearings for that year and convert later metric axles to non metric.

Almost, has to run and get parts so that took time away from getting it done. It will be done on Friday since I work next two days.

Note to self.....wear my damn long sleeves when welding. Ahhhhh!!!

That's good to know. Thanks for the info.
But, I think I might just get a 44/9 combo when the Dana turdy dies.

When I was making my frame mounts for my long arms the first one I didn't wear long sleeves and got a nasty weld light burn. So after a few days I made the other one wearing a long sleeve and it creeped up on me and reburned my healing burn...that wasn't a good week on my arm.

I've had flash burns before, but not like this. Been welding for close to 1.5 hours non stop

I remember the first time I tig welded. Wow, that stuff is bright. Now I know why our tig welder here at work wears leathers on his arms and neck.

I have been busy the last two weeks. My brother and I made a utility trailer for our dad's business. Then as soon as that was done I got a cold and laid in bed all day. Then today I woke up and started replacing the steering box. Didn't get to the pump but at least it won't leak anymore. Then later today I started making sliders. I am exhausted.
Pics will be posted tomorrow while I'm at work.

Must be nice being able to get on your phone at work, I would at least like to be able to listen to music.

I tend to have extra time to do such things.

Start off by posting pictures of the 4x10 utility trailer. Used formed 3/16 for the sides and formed 1/8 for the crossmembers. Then used some scrap angle I had laying around for the floor supports. The tounge and axle was salvaged from an old boat trailert dad had laying around. I know, the axle is too small but it was just to get it out of my garage. It will be finished with expanded steel for the gate and 1/4 or so plywood for the decking. This axle is heavy duty, could hold 2k lbs easily.
