Escorts 2nd SAS

Take all the time you need, no rush.

Are you going to have to redo your track bar seeing as your draglink will be longer or will you be fine?

Yes it will all be redone, trackbar, knuckles, tierods, pitman arm, steering box, pump....etc.

Also, I will be replacing/redoing the spring buckets to hold bump stops inside the spring, also try to get rid of the spacer on the driver side.

I just hope I will have enough extra cash to get this done this year, overtime has been very scarce lately.
But first thing is to fix the steering leak. Already gone through 3 quarts of trans fluid.

Put some gear oil in it, should slow it down. :headbang:

It will just be messier to clean up later on, but it might stop the leak, or just slow it down and make a stinky mess.

My moms 92 has gear oil in it, but only because it was so loud. :icon_rofl:

Like I was saying at bundy hill, I'm not touching the fluid in mine till it leaks.
193,000 miles on the original fluid. :icon_cheers:
-knocks on wood-

Not putting hear oil in it. I bought a seal kit for it so hopefully this weekend I will pull the box and fix it.

Change of plans....not going to get the WJ knuckles, going to cost me too much for new brakes and bearings etc.... Even though they have better brakes. Talked to my jeep buddy and he has a plan to help save money and use what I already have. Going to have new draglink, tierods. Reuse my trackbar. Basically a crossover steering setup, just a little different. He suggested a heavier diff cover and mount the ram to it. So altogether should cost me about $300 including the ram, hydraulic lines, tierods, and DOM.

I think I know what your going to do. Hopefully having a thicker diff cover and DOM linkage, when you turn your wheel all the way left or right they won't hit each other.

For this project, lots of pics would be great.

Oh I will take pictures, I'm already getting excited for this upgrade.

The ram I got a good deal for it. Didn't really have the money right now but just couldn't pass it up.

Well, didn't get much done but, I dis get a lot of good ideas from my buddy Matt at GetBentKustoms.
We talked about what we need to do, how to run/place the ram...got some mounting tabs cut, and started to lay out a design for gussets for the front bumper.

On a side note........

Coilovers are in my future very soon. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
