If I still had the donor vehicle? Keep it a 144ci 4cyl, but… flathead.
Leaf springs f/r with offset pinion live axles, with adapted VW Bus portal ends. Baby Unimog? Transmission and transfer case out of the donor, custom driveshafts to accomodate the extra 28” of wheelbase vs the donor?
Said donor being my 1946 CJ2A…

Except the accessory drive is about to occupy the radiator space…

I wish him the best with his build but he’s only got the easy part done so far.

He claims that the engine is low and back enough to avoid that. He's done a lot of homework and explains his plan of attack in his VDOs.
