Escorts 2nd SAS

according to the tech library there is a slight diff between the two. The 2.3 has lower 1st and 2nd but i believe the rest are the same.

I would keep the stock 4.0 gears. I don't think I would like to have a lower first gear in mine, I already can't get enough wheel speed.

true. It is low enough the way it is with the 4.56. Ok then that answers my question.

Nice job. You now have the exact truck I really want. For now I'm building my 1st gen since I already have it. But I like that body style better and I wouldn't have to swap in the 4.0 Can wait to see some poser pics

Even though it was hot as hell the last two days i have gotten alot done. Finished the OBA and put the beltech shackles on to finish the rear suspention since the bed was removed. Also got my photobucket account working again and will post pics as soon as i get of work tonight.
Waiting on parts to get here for the transmission rebuild and then i will swap them this weekend hopefully.

I need to get motivated to work on mine (and money too). But I know what is next on the todo list though and it wont cost a dime to do.

Here are some picture updates. Finally got photobucket working.

The 5 gallon air tank

Brackets welded to the frame and the tank bolted to that.

I put in an oiler I got on eBay for $4 and have the inlet to the compressor ran into the air filter box

Here is the outlet that goes to a check valve then to a manifold block that has a gauge, front air line, safty valve, pressure switch 90psi on 120psi off, and then a 3/8 hose that runs to the tank in the back

1307585215.jpg

The pressure switch wires go to the a/c pressure switch wires that I cut off.
So this way I can turn on the compressor with the a/c switch on the dash and also this way I can utilize the factory relay for the a/c compressor clutch

Here is a finished pic of the tank

I have a fitting here...

...and here

It will fill the tank at idle from 0-120psi in about 40-50 seconds. Not to bad and all I invested was about $50 or so :headbang:

2.3 transmission torn apart to strip the mainshaft out of. I have a 2wd mainshaft I will put in this trans and sell it to recoup some money for future stuff.

For this transmission having 400k+ miles on it the gears look really good.

i want oba now....lol

X2..... It just looks so handy and i never use a/c anyways

i just fixed my a/c tho.... but it feels so weird using it. so half way thru the day i turned it off and put the windows down again lol

Now do my OBA setup for me!

I love it.

so what all can you use off of that set up? im thinking once i get $ i may go get an a/c pump ( my truck doesnt have a/c) and do this..

dude, that is awesome. nice work with the OBA. i'm with 4.0, i want it now too

well, should be able to use any air tool with a 5 gallon tank. To try it out i aired down two tire to 0psi with the motor off and a full 120psi tank and was able to fill both to 28psi and still have 80 psi in the tank. I am carring an impact and an air chuck with me now instead of a tire iron. Should be able to use an air hammer or air grinder with no problems as long as the motor is running.
