Escorts 2nd SAS

sick.... im doing the same thing with my f150 right now. except im using a 3 gallon tank... im gonna try and get a hold of another 3 gallon tank and plumb it in later on

its amazing how handy this comes in. i use mine allthe time. airing up tire's and buzzin bolt's off. it's almost easier than kicking on the garage compressor.

Ugh, blew up the u-joint this morning to my sons 6th grade graduation breakfast. Was getting some werious vibrations and before I could pull over, the joint at the rear of the carrier bearing looks like it broke in half. Didnt loose the driveshaft luckily. but had to get it towed home. Now I am broke from paying the driver $60 just to get it 5 miles back home. If i would have it 4wd, I could of limped home but oh well. Guess I will have to put the repair on a credit card since I dont get paid for another week.... So much for getting the transmissions swaped this weekend.

I seriously need to find a one piece and get rid of this junk 2piece driveshaft. Might go to the JY and see if they have anything

I agree. Carrier bearing + lift = bad stuff waiting to happen.

The OBA kinda comfuses me but maybe that was due to a lack of sleep. If I can get an AC compressor and all the brackets then I will be golden. I can find rebuilt compressors for $166 on ebay.

Yep. Should work fine but 166 seems alot for a rebuilt one IMO.
Have u looked in junk yards?

JY's are life savers!!! and at the local pull a part-- compressors are like $8 and warranty is another $2.. so if it doesn't work i can take it back and swap it out! lol

That's where i got mine. Came out of a 1999 Ranger 4x4

Havent looked at a JY yet but hopefully I will soon, know that there are some 2.8's there that have them.

I was just thinking. I have two transfer cases. Why not make a doubler and I think if I measured right, can use the rear part of the two piece shaft. ??:icon_idea:

I need to look into how it's made. I do know I need to make a shaft between the two.

machine shops should be able to make it.. or contact DD or whoever it is that does them on here.

If you have the 1354 and 1350 then yes you can do it. But you will have to rethink your gas tank as the doubler will get in the way and redo your driveshafts too.

its all worth it..

Yeah I do have the big 20 gallon tank on here and yeah I will have to extend the front shaft. It was just an idea that I might look into later on.
