I have some rubber insulators/spacers for the XJ springs that will slide over the center. So now its all ready to get torn apart this weekend.

Thanks, I am getting excited about this build compared to the 89. Cant wait to see how it will look and ride.

I used a J clip to hold mine on the top bucket.

Start ripping the new one apart, its dying to be 4wd D30 SAS'ed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that way the spring can unload under flexing. I figured I would try it and see how well it worked.

coil buckets look good. i need to get some 250 shock towers

Same here but mod them so that they can accept stud bolts on top, I know they are reducing how much I can flex and how well my suspension performs due to compressing all the way.

so you need early bronco shock towers then. Check Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, they have them.

Started working on the axle swap today. I started on it later than i was planning on. My sister needed some work done to her car so since i am the only mechanic in the family........
All i got done so far is the rear. Made up some leafs from extra ranger leafs sitting around. Put my lift blocks on and shocks. Still have to put the extended brake line on. I will be starting the front tomorrow. Taking a lot of pics along the way and will post them when done.

Got alot done today. Spent about 12 hours on it, doing all the work myself it's going good.
Here's the update with pics

All that is left to do is attach the steering, hook up the brake lines, bleed the brakes, put extended line on rear axle, do an alignment... :icon_thumby:

My plans are to drive it to work monday morning. Should happen if I dont run into any problems...

that was FAST!.....i guess it's a little easier since you've done it all before

Got it done today, went for a drive. Handles good, just needs an alignment. I got it close but still needs fine tuned.
