I cant say running bigger tires would do much unless you are in 4wd and hammering it, then your putting more rotatonal force on it. They arent providing much more outside leverage on the bearing if any other then cornering or turning. I will say thats something I need to get is a JY spare one so that if I do have one that goes out, Ill have a temp. backup one until I can get a new one.

offset of wheels plays a big part in life of the bearing as well take the leverage of a larger tire and an offset wheel and then take it offroad constantly and they fail quick!

I just had bought a set of the KM2's for my ranger just before the 4.0 crapped out again. I am hoping to get this taken care of this winter.

I am guessing your front axle came from a heep? I am guessing because it looks like some of the r-arm set ups you would see on one, that and I dont know what other straight axles use a unit bearing besides the late model d-60 and d-50's.

I think the there is a conversion kit to rid your axle of those and swap back to a regular wheel bearing or is that just on the bigger axles?

I checked out Dynatrac website on their prorock 60. It sounds like a good deal for what it all comes with. A locker and gears installed, completely bolt in and go. But I can't see paying all that for an axle that costs more than my truck is worth.

The last time I filled up I got 9mpg!? Wtf? I took the air filter housing and intake tube all apart. Um, I found some problems with everything. The filter was plugged full of dirt and crap, I forgot to clean it after bundy hill. And, there was mud in the intake tube but nothing in the filter box or the air filter or MAF. Inspecting it I found on the bottom a huge crap right after the MAF. This could be why I am having hesitation issues and poor mileage. I will take a picture later of it, the guy had called me about the tires in the middle of working on it so I had to put it back together and leave..... I will get this fixed and see if my mpg improves.
