I was just thinking of that. Would already be setup and would be a bolt it and go....now if I could convince the wife to let me spend another grand on the truck. Lol

the only thing i have had to do to my axle since the swap was replace 1 hub that i detonated out wheelin. i carry a flange on the trail tho for just that scenario. took a break and smoked 1 cig and had it all changed out and cleaned up before i was even done.

you can use the same suspension no matter what axle you use. just how much fab work is the question.

Fab is not the problem for me. I just looking for ideas. Although the dyna pro 44 or pro rock 60 would be a plug and play option. Lol

Hell yeah.

Looking at different options, I checked into Currie d30 hub conversion. $1200 for it!? Don't think so.

Yeah a set of the pro rock 60's with a 4 linked rear and duff arms up front would be nice ..........
Hopefully my fsb will be set up just like Ted's soon, its not real far off now. I see a lot of people swap in d-30's and 35's here and wonder how those are holding up to the abuse? I have a good source of d44's from the old bronco's and plan on throwing in the 9" and d44 combo at mine when the time comes.

Screw it. I think I will just get Dynatrac Prorock 60. Fully built is only $3000. Lol

Get an EB 44, same width you have now basically but different bolt pattern. Just need to do a disk brake swap. Or like Bray, he narrowed a HP fullwidth 44 and runs EB shafts in it, or some simular variation

I can make you a good deal on a front D44 with 4.88 gears, I can meet you part way when you come up wheeling sometime.....just sayin

3k for a front 60 set up? If it doesn't have stock parts inside of it, that really isn't too bad. To set up a 60, including buying it, with gears, locker, drive flanges, diff cover, and a few other goodies, like mine, you can have lots of $$ into it without labor. Ask me how I know....lol

But your 44 is a low pinion right?

I checked out Dynatrac website on their prorock 60. It sounds like a good deal for what it all comes with. A locker and gears installed, completely bolt in and go. But I can't see paying all that for an axle that costs more than my truck is worth.

How much you asking for it anyway? :)

A Pro rock 60 is more than 3000, I built a rock jock on their website and it was like 5500

might want to look into reid knuckles. for some reasone i'm thinking they had it set up to run ford outters on a 30 with their knuckle's. but i could be wrong

just remember by goin 44 your shafts are still the same size as what you got now. but i'm still waiting to break one knock on wood. guess it depends on hom much rocks you do. all i've broke to date on any of my axles is unit bearings, yoke on a 35, hubs on both the 35 & 44 ,R&P on the 8.8, and not a whole lot else. i've allways been able to limp her home one way or another.

I'll have to check into them. I have seen them before but never checked them out.

So far the weakest link on my setup is the damn unit bearings.

If you do go with a D44, do what kroussinoffroad did and welded brakets to his D44 so that he could still use his longarms.

I have only had one unitbearing failure but that was due to it being an unknown age, mileage, etc... on it but havent had a problem with one since.
