Escorts 2nd SAS

we ran ours on the street with a welded rear and never had problems but who knows... its was also a samurai though so i dont think it had enough weight to cause damage

Now I have another reason to convert over to rear disk brakes.

you don't' need a reason-- except for the fact that they are BETTER..
i'll have disc brakes so...i'll be good lol. but i'll also not have a spool

No I need the reason to do this. I hate working on drum brakes, mine are sounding like they are shot and when they get wet now, they chirp non stop until they dry off. I just have to find the GT backing plates for a good price and I will go from there.

I guess I need to be on the look out for another axle. Going to the take-A-part tomorrow to see if.they have any goodies.

I am having every thing go out all at once. Blew a hole in plastic end cap on the radiator. The TC rear seal blew out, and lost the outer wheel weights on the passenger front wheel. The passenger side front hub bearing is shot just need to put the extra one in. And its starting to run like crap, needs a tune up badly. All needs to be fixed before I take a trip to bundy hill next weekend.

My wheels dont have outter weights, just the driver rear does due to I had to put a plug in and I forgot to tell the place not to put one on. All sounds easy to replace (the TC seal can be a PITA but easy now that I know how to do it). If the rear needs it the front may be next. As for the engine, that can be a huge PITA to figure out but could be something simple.

seems like every year my truck has a melt down as well

The TC I will pull it out and change the front yoke over to my other 1350 its in better shape as far as bearings than the one in there now. It's only about a 30 min job. The bearing is about the same amount of time. The motor? It needs new plugs wires and both o2 sensors. Been throwing codes for them so might just replace them and be done with it.

to be fully enjoy car (or trucks) you have to fully enjoy workin on them too.
i get irritated at ppl with modified vehicle's that wouldnt know how to fix them on the go.

that's why all my toys are built not bought.

Well, it seems like every time I get ready to make the trip up to Bundy Hill something always happens. This time the front drive shaft took a crap on me. When I moved the axle forward it made the shaft to short. Thought it.would.be.ok and I guess I was wrong.
I was having a lot of vibrations coming from the drive train and just figured it was the two piece rear shaft. Driving it I figured it was coming from the front. Crawled underneath and unbolted it from the axle yoke and the slip shaft came apart. The vibrations were from it being over extended and starting to wobble. Called the driveline place here in town and they want $125 to lengthen my extra drive.shaft I have. And also the radiator is leaking badly.... So hopefully I can get it all done for Saturday September 3rd. That is my next day off to be able to go........... :(

Your going to have to spend the money to fix the stuff anyways since she is your DD so its better now then later.

Friend just asked me why I couldn't use the radiator from the other truck. I don't know why I couldn't. It's for the 2.3 and the inlet/outlet are on different sides, but I don't know why I couldn't use universal hoses? The 2.3 radiator is almost brand new and they are both the same size, both a single row.... I will have to look into it tonight when I get home from work.

If they are the same size i.e. width height, etc... and if you can find a hoses that will work then you may be just fine. Even if you have to put a metal sleeve on the inside then attach another hoes to get the lenth you need or the correcct bends for you hoses then you maybe fine. Work with what you have before buying new.
