Sure sounds like a bad fuel pump or a almost totally stopped up fuel filter.. Nothing you have posted sounds like timing chain problems.
Try this.. place the fuel pressure meter on it and then give it as many rpm as it will take and see if the pressure drops.. If so Check the filters and the pump.
