The wife has been wanting one for quite a while now. The Ranger runs fine and gets the job done, but we need something people can fit in comfortably, without having to try and slide into the back seat of the B2, and her Ranger's a Regular Cab.

I found a 2002

Is that too much or to little? What should I look for when checking it out?

What should I be looking at getting out of her truck,

1999 Ranger XL
3.0L Flex Fuel
ESOF 4x4
4R44E Automatic
105K
Black Fiberglass Cap, and grille guard.

I love the new ones. I want one SO bad. =]

The beds seam a little pointless, I guess you could get a sliding top, and throw a lot of ice in their for an over-sized cooler.

They're alright, an ex had one and it was a pretty nice ride. Ususally when the 2 of us went somewhere it was in her Sport Track with me driving instead of my RX-7. I got pretty comfortable with the truck and had not problems driving it at all. The only time I didn't like it was when I needed the bed which was a little pointless as said already. The back seat wasn't too bad I guess, my brother sat back there with no problems and he's 6'0" and 180lbs.

The SportTrac price is about Right. My 97 Reg cab short bed, 4cyl, 2WD ranger books for $3445. If you want to check the bluebook value(just to get an Idea on what to charge) check out kbb.com, enter type of vehicle, make, model, year. Then select SUGGESTED RETAIL VALUE. It will have a list to enter mileage, then configure the vehicle and check all options that apply. (Im not sure if a grille gaurd counts as a custom bumper)

I forgot to mention that the front shocks tend to go out fairly prematurly on them. Had to replace them on my ex's at 80k.

i would trade it but keep the grill guard it should bolt right to the sport tracks frame so you would have that to protect the front end

The suggested retail value is what you'd expect to pay from a used car dealer, not what you should sell it for. KBB makes that price based on the dealer making ~$1k profit off of it. For comparison, select "Trade-in Value" to see what you should expect the dealer to offer for it. Select Private Party value to know what you should sell it for, if you're selling it privately.

Its got a clean carfax. I just ran it. Its been in OH its whole life, but shows a new lein in 3/08 when it had 57,000 miles on it. Make sure the title is clean (the lein is paid off) before you buy. Other than that it shows spotlessly clean. Good luck.

'sup Justin, since my truck is broken i've been car pooling with a friend of mine who has one exacly like that exept its navy blue and 2wd he loves it but he wishes he'd got the 4x4 the ride really nice kinda like the newer rangers but i thank a little softer and even the 2wd does good in the winter and has good ground clearence, and the 4.0 great too. the only problem that i know of is the driver side power window wires got cut some how by the door jam not sure. and the windows won't go up and down when the doors are open (power windows).

First off, Snake... Thanks... Can you email me a copy of it?

I called, he is only willing to offer me $2500 for the ranger, so if I get it, I plan on keeping the ranger and selling it to someone.

I am waiting on the bank, and to take it for a drive.

I sent you a PM... hope it works, out of town for a few days so expect a delay in response

OH...I just remembered.

The doorhandles/windows brake easily.

haha what new cars doesn't?

I almost bought a sportrac, but, the bed was too short, useless in my opinion.

Yeah. I really do want a 2008 tho.

They are SO classy inside, I test-drove one. [with no intent to buy, lol]

But, if i paid 32,988 for a TRUCK, i would not use it for a TRUCK.

Well, not anytime soon.

I'm happy to be between vehicle loans. I don't see anything I want enough to throw a monthly payment at.
