so i bought a new ecu for my truck from the auto part store, i have 42 lbs injectors and with the last ecu id be running rich as H#!! so i added more boost and adjusted the timing and plug gaps and was running 18psi happy!! with the new ecu its afr is running like it was with the 35 lbs injectors and i can only run about 12psi... the question is can an ecu recognize the larger injectors or is it the new sensors i have replaced functioning properly

to be honest it really helps to know exactly what truck/year/engine/etc for us to really help out. It's a general rule of thumb to include that in every new thread/question you have so that we don't have to do a bunch of leg work to figure out what you have.

With that being said, I'll cautiously give you this information: Most ecu's couldn't tell the difference between a 16lb injector and a 30 lb injector. You need to reprogram it in order for it to remap your fuel tables. What are you using to check afr numbers? Is it rich at idle and hard throttle or one of the two? What do you mean by you can only run 12 psi? As in you physically can't pump more air or is it something else stopping you?

Edit: didn't realize you had more than one thread going. I thought your screen name sounded familiar lol

yeah

89 ranger 5spd with 85.5 svo 2.3t 3'' ic pipe tubular header 3'' dp/exhaust 42lb injectors large vam 255lph fp 88 tc computer(la3 auto) greddy typ r bov(eww) narrow band o2 autometer afr gauge.... i have a external wideband i hook up when tuning... just easier to keep seperate so i can tune other vehicles, basicly it goes from 9.5:1 to about 12:1 as the boost reaches past 12 psi.. with the last ecu it would stay about9.5-10.5:1 up to 18psi.. so didnt know if changing from the svo ecu to the 88tc la3 ecu maybe they are able to run different injectors... i geeuss this is more of just a weird question than anything...
