Economic stimulus package

Have you guys heard about this stimulus package?

300 to 600 bucks a tax payer:

"The legislation would provide $600 payments for individuals -- $1,200 for couples -- plus $300 for each child under 17. It would begin to phase out eligibility at $75,000 in adjusted gross income for individuals and $150,000 for couples. Workers who can show $3,000 in earned income last year--not enough to pay taxes--would be eligible for payments of $300."

yes,there was another thread several weeks ago.spend it-thats what they want you to do.it was $800 per taxpayer when the presidente introduced the idea,but the house has it and it has a life of its own.we'll see what actually trickles down,never had a check i could not use.

It was at like 1600 and then they went to 1200 and now to 600 and even talking about going lower. A another way they can make themselves look like they are actually doing us a favor but they want you to spend it so it helps them in the end. they always win in the end.....bastards

It ballooned because senate dems kept demanding to add to it. Now people who paid no taxes are getting a check too. They'll just collect more taxes from the rest of us to cover it.

If the big wigs who make over 6 and 7 figure incomes didn't keep putting it away to keep growing... I think the economy would be in a MUCH better state.

Also, if I could live in society today without really having to worry about going broke... I would feel that the economy would be better.

Just a thought... why not set the senators and house members' paychecks at a set rate. They get raises every year or two. I wish everyone else in the world could get a $10,000 dollar a year raise like that just as frequently.

I voted on the people to serve... not to get paid...

Well I was talking about it with a guy at work and he's the one who mentioned that to me...

and believe me... He is way to old to be wrong...

that is exactly what it is....a loan, but considering how much we pay in taxes i doubt its interest free, nothing with our government comes without a string attached somewhere....havent you guys learned that yet??

I have a little advice, go out and buy something that was made in the USA instead of foreign made horseshit! No wonder americans are losing jobs. 90% of products I look at were made overseas.

insanejughead has it right,people who make ridiculous amounts of money put it away to avoid taxes,something like 13 trillion in offshore accounts.it'll come back if we ever reform tax laws,in the form of investments in the very things that effect the economy.have nothing against folks who bust their ass and make a fortune.as for the house of representatives,it's a good gig if you can swing it,hell you vote for your own raise,have a staff that does your work,jet here and there doing this and that,and heres the kicker,you get your salary for life when you leave.and the only way you can lose the lifetime salary is to be convicted of treason.i could be wrong,but i'm not.
