It ballooned because senate dems kept demanding to add to it. Now people who paid no taxes are getting a check too. They'll just collect more taxes from the rest of us to cover it.

Go out and spend it. Buy more plastic junk made in China so your favorite big-box store can keep an illegal alien employed for a few more weeks.

$600 isn't going to accomplish much more.

On an individual level, the best thing someone can do with that money is make a $600 payment to their credit cards, or other outstanding loans.

Congressional pay raises are automatic. They are tied to the cost of living index each year. Same for federal judges, and some employees. shady

About politician's raises. Giving a $10K raise to a politician who is making $200K isn't unreasonable. That barely stays ahead of inflation. If I were in that position I would be upset if my salary didn't keep up with inflation. Besides, the salaries of government employees is one of smallest issues in the pot of economical issues.

its not going to do a thing for our economy........its going to be like a cheap shot of meth to our economy. if they want real results make the us more economically feasible to manufacture real job producing products through deregulation.

then start up a policy of restricting imports till our exports are more equalized.

there are container ships that go back to china filled with nothing but ballast water just because they import so little.

One of the big holdups was that the dems wanted to extend unemployement benefits by 13 weeks. This money would get back into the economy faster becasue these folks are living on the edge.

The current crowd of republicans aren't really conservatives--they're just liars and thieves. The only reason those guys call themselves republicans is because for 12 years calling yourself a republican gave you a big advantage in office. Once calling yourself a democrat gets you an equally big advantage the liars and thieves will start to call themselves democrats.

It would be nice if somewhere along the election process the candidate was required to hold down an honest blue-collar job for a few years. Rotten assholes would have a hard time pulling that off.
