if all politicians got paid the same amount of lets say 100k a year the positions would be alot less desirable. Then some people that didnt care about the money as much and really cared could get into office. Because its all about the money.

I disagree. At $100K we'd still have the same worthless fucks running the show. Most politicians are independently wealthy so money isn't the drive for them. Its the power IMO.

It would be nice if somewhere along the election process the candidate was required to hold down an honest blue-collar job for a few years. Rotten assholes would have a hard time pulling that off.
