Ok so any one would work that's a 93 4.0 4x4 but sense I put a manual shift in mine would the 4x4 4x2 part matter?

2WD vs 4WD shouldn’t matter. The ECM doesn’t have any control over the 4x4 system.

salvage yard is using a database like Autodex North America and it is super super exact. They will only list the exact same part number. So if Ford made a part and gave it part number XY-1234, then 5 years later improved it and replaced it with a new versions XZ-1234 (note the Y and Z), the junkyard will still tell you ONLY XY-... and not give you vehicles with the XZ-... parts.

Not to mention a XL and XR both work perfectly fine, that is just the slight version different that Ford used in a CAR/SUV that had one additional feature that doesn't exist on ours and the computer ignores missing with no errors.

Ok I didn't know how that worked i thought I was screwed thanks for explaining so i just need to ignore them and just get one for my year n manual transmission.... tho that motor is a salvage motor and was out of a automatic n I was getting a natural switch code but I couldn't find the wires .... then I started getting the ecm 511 i think code pin 1 something I pull the computer out n seen the board burnt under the blue chips

you can cleanup and re-cap (replace capacitors) for little of nothing cost...

Yea I grew up working on chip boards but the board is burnt under all the blue ones

@Scott_Meier
In both 93 and 94 Ford produced 2 different 4.0l setups:
• the SFI-MAF/EDIS with EGR (the California emissions, sequential fuel injected version)
• the MPI-MAF/EDIS non-EGR (the Federal, batch fire version)...the PCM from one system should not be used on the other.
