Im looking at buying one of those cheap led light bars from craigslist. Its a 30" bar and says it has cree leds and puts out (or draws) 300 watts. Has anyone ever used one of these? If so what did you think? I dont do any offroading but i live in the woods with lots of deer and just want to see better at night.

I wouldn't bother with LED lights at this point if it's good distance you're looking for. Good quality halogen or HID lights (Hella, KC, etc.) still reign king when it comes to throwing light far down a dark road.

However if you're looking for something to flood the foreground with lots of intensely bright light, then LEDs are quite good at that. Be aware lots of foreground lighting also constricts your pupils, reducing your ability to see further ahead even if you do have good lights.

I want it to look like it does during the day without a bunch of lights on the front. I like the lightbar because its sleaker looking than the round KCs or hellas. I dont expect the quality to be as good as an $800 light but im more worried about buying a $120 dollar light that leaks or breaks in 3 months.

From my experience with leds, they put out alot of light with a short throw. About the same distance as your stock headlights but significantly more output. HIDs on the other hand put out a lot of light with a much further throw, but tend to over shoot the first 30 feet. That's why I went back to HIDs. Just turn your brights on and you have excellent coverage

If it has Cree LED's then go for it. Some cheap light bars won't last due to having cheap LEDs.
