has any of you used EB coil perches on the ranger frame? How did you get past the weirdness of the drivers side frame rail. Fingering out how to do the spring is the only thing stopping me from proceeding on with the front end.

This might get a better response in Xtreme Suspensions (i'll move it there for you).

I've seen EB buckets used, it is possible to do, but I don't have info on it myself.

You can also use the stock RBV buckets by cutting off the part of the EB coil that "cuts across" at the top. Welding a tab or something to the top of the bucket to support the coil will keep it from bowing outward (some pics showing the tabs on mine are on my BII Cardomain page (2)).

Anyway, hope that helps

I now the TTb coils are smaller and the James buff emailed me and told me my springs would not fit there replacement coil buckets.

I am trying to put my Dana 60 in using the kit i have for the EB james duff rad arms with cage weld on lower coil mounts and rad bracket.

may have to plate the frame to make it boxed like the EB frame

Why not just get some aftermarket universal weld-on coil buckets?

I think I might use those , but they look weak.
JohnnyU do you know of or have any expirience with these? They look like they could use a few gussets.

Not with these particular buckets. I'd be more concerned with the frame twisting or deflecting due to moment created by the spring force.

Shouldn't be much worse than the moment caused by the stock spring/bucket combo, unless the mounting location of the spring is significantly further from the frame than the original bucket. If so, they wouldn't work anyways due to the misallignment of upper and lower coil buckets/pads.

Other than that I like the adjustability of the design. I may have to look into these when its time to swap in the 44.

I just used my stock buckets (cut for EB Shock towers) and ran the EB coils in them, no issues so far!

I think i will give them a try got to get some progress on the truck.

It's actually quicker for me to just tell you....bend the tabs on the inside of the stock buckets in and install it like a regular TTB coil. I'm workin on getting U bolts for holding the coils in.

did you have to flip the coil upside down?

Have you looked into the F-250 2wd coil spring retainers to hold the coils in?

Nope, the coil worked perfect right side up. I had a set of F150 J clips to install but lost them somewhere alone the line...I figured a good set of small U bolts would work too, or else I'll just build something.

Right now I've got 1 EB bucket on the passenger side as I busted a stock one about 2 months ago, I haven't gotten around to modding the other one to fit the frame on the drivers side yet. I'll grab a couple shots of the stock vs Eb bucket. The coil sits much nicer in the EB bucket than the stock one, no bowing on that side anymore.
