I was doing a roof repair at a chemical plant. Found an ultrasonic cleaner in the metal dumpster. Sticker says " not ISO compliant". I grabbed it and took it home. Looks like the fuse blew...
Will have to find a slow blow 5amp 120V fuse and see if I'm lucky...

Nice find, I bought one of the HF cleaners years back with pretty high hopes but.. it sucks lol.

I never did a test with just hot water but I did like mine for black powder revolver parts.

One suggestion I saw on youtube was to fill the ultra sonic cleaner with water. Use a glass or plastic jar for whatever you are cleaning and the cleaner. Glass works better than plastic but both will work. That way, you don't have to keep cleaning the tub or worrying about what cleaning solution you have in the cleaner. And you can always just toss the jar if it gets to groady to use anymore

I've only ever used mine to (try to) clean really greasy crap and little carbs with straight simple green and the results were real depressing. One of the last times I used it I blew an entire can of carb cleaner into the simple green and it still didn't do a damn thing 🙄

Well.. the carb cleaner melted the little plastic parts tray in the bottom but that's about it lol

Cool find! I also found one of those in the trash a while back and there was nothing wrong with it.

Might try Pinesol in it, I hear that works pretty well.

I used to find tools in the trash all the time. My old table saw, an air compressor, several drills & circular saws, roofing nailer...all from the trash... mostly just needed minor repairs or were just old. I was getting a ton of stuff from the trash can behind one of the pawn shops, that place was a honey hole until they started locking the dumpster shut.

For dissolving super glued assemblies in acetone. No waiting overnight, takes minutes.

Electro cleaning works too, 12Vdc & tub & tile cleaner. Then ultrasonic clean it after words. NEVER turn it on w/o some liquid inside it, at least halfway full. Works for carb stuff.

Even just the FUMES from acetone will liquify super glue. Whenever I need to remove glued RC tires off of the wheels I'll dump some acetone in a coffee can and put the wheels/tires in the can propped up on something so theyre not actually sitting in the acetone.. put the lid on and let them sit for awhile.. glue will dissolve and the tires will peel right off. Clean up the rest of the glue off the wheel with a rag or whatever and put some new ones on.

Way easier than the boiling technique.
