Ford has 2 different rear axles for the Ranger:
7.5" => 102 tooth
8.8" => 108 tooth
So, if you're going with picking up the pulses from the pinion snout or transmission output, you want a ring with. (Assuming Toy axle has 4.1 gears)
108/4.10 = 26.34 teeth (8.8") or 102/4.10 = 24.87 teeth....so somewhere between 25 and 26 teeth depending on how you want to manufacture it. Then, you don't need to worry about any additional electronics to get the pulse close enough for practical purposes.
For me, that was one of my shortcomings: I haven't worked with fiberglass. And when I was looking into this was made aware that there are varieties of fiberglass...
Part 2 of my personal challenge, I didn't want the "step" hanging out in the breeze = a bunch of cutting/fitting to make it look OEM. Again, the amount of body work I have done is very limited; and my wanting to have it look Concurs meant that I was asking someone to do it.
$1,000 US for the aftermarket fenders becomes $1,500 Cdn. + >$500 to get them shipped to Calgary, the fabrication to make them fit the existing regular box and $1,000 Cdn to get them painted to match the rest of the truck is where the cost escalated to $4k Cdn...
