So I replaced my 2 piece with a 1 piece. Thinking the loud thud was coming from the 2 piece.

Well now its worse.

After I got under it after a test drive and several loud thumps going up the rutted out dirt hill I saw scrape marks on the cab. After sticking my hand up there I found that I can't even fit a finger between the shaft and my body. Is this common? I know body lift would fix this. But I'm unemployed currently and can't afford much.

Any thing I can do to clearance it? It needs to be cheap. Any one encounter this before? The truck has no lift

So I've got it lined out to do some work in exchange for a 2 body lift from suspension connection.

This should fix my clearance issue.

You can always go the old fashioned hockey puck route. or 2 inch drop shackles from parts store for 37 bux

Yeah. Thought about it but already ordered the body lift. Figured id do it right. I've never heard of any one having this problrm. Maybe its because they all have lifted trucks when they do the swap.

Pics? I can't imagine where it would hit on my truck since i don't have a body lift. There's a lot of room up under there.

I can't get pics best I can describe is right at the end of the transfer case where the drive shaft and the case connect stick your hand up there. I don't even have enough room to put my finger in between the shaft and the body because there is some sort of bracing on the tunnel that is about a inch lower than the body. When I put the body lift in ill take pics and post

wow your suspension must be whooped, I didn't have a problem with my driveshaft hitting the floor until I lowered the back 4"..and it was the same as yours, wasn't touching but couldn't fit my fingers in there. I just cut it out and welded in a new piece of sheetmetal..

That's what I thought to. But I can fit 31x10. 5 on 3.75 back spacing without rubbing. Back is still 2 inch higher than the front. Body mounts are fine. I'm not sure what the deal is.

Far as the comment on 31s goes I've read some posts of people who rub with 31s on a ranger and the Mazda is said to have smaller fender wells.

Also if I was to cut it'd have to be alot further up then yours. Probably a foot.
