Door lock clip

I do not have a door key and I ordered new locks . I was installing them and when I took the old lock out I found the clip that holds the locking rod to the lock broken. Any one know the part number ? Advance doesn't have a replacement clip. Where do I get one ? 1988 XLT
Was thinking about the old style metal clips that were on the throttle linkage as a substitute . Don't know . Help

I've found stuff like that at the local auto parts place. Usually on a revolving display with the "HELP" brand
