How do I disconnect the "door open chime" or whatever it's called, in my '98 Ranger XLT?

It's driving me nuttier than I already am. Lol :icon_rofl:

I'm more familiar with the older rangers so this may not be accurate, but the door chime module is usually under the dash, right behind/below the ash tray.

On the '95 & later trucks I recall it's part of the GEM (generic electronic module), which if memory serves correct, you have to pull the radio out of the dash to get to it. There's also no "plug" you can unplug, you'll have to physically remove or disable the dinger itself on the GEM board to silence it.

Isn't there something in the door itself, which I could disable to stop it?

Would be much easier...

Hmmm, yeah... I guess disconnecting the door switch would work too... :D
(it's inside the door on the latch mechanism)

You'll still get the seat belt and other warning dings though.
